My
name is Dolhathai Srijamcharoen (Pooh)
As an adventurous and creative person,
I love to explore and create art and jewelry from excavated and
Vintage objects.
I
was born in Thailand but relocated to New York City in 2001
to work as an artist and jewelry Maker.
How I started making Jewelry from Pottery and Old Glass
In 2008 to 2013, I had the great opportunity to join a team of
bottle collectors
and historians go digging for old glass at various sites in New
York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC.
After our first round of digs, I used the assortment of items
we gathered to create a collection of past object art pieces and
I have been doing so ever since.
Today, I have mastered the technique of cleaning and combining
objects, artifacts, glass, pottery shards, doll parts and vintage
jewelry findings to create distinctive pieces, each with their
own unique history.
Most
of pottery shards from 1800's I use now are from fellow excavation
team. I also use 1950's vintage dishwear, flatwear and other vintage
objects which I collects from different antique markets.
I am very proud that I am able to bring these objects
back to life and give people the opportunity to appreciate them
again in different forms, all while contributing to environmental
sustainability efforts.
